Before ANY Injectable Treatment

Before ANY Injectable Treatment

  • Growing a tiny human? We can wait.

Pregnancy or breastfeeding — injectables can’t be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Tell us before you book. When the time is right, we’ll be right here to help you get your glow back.

  • Skip the cocktails, grab the water.

No alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment and drink plenty of water. Come hydrated and ready to be flawless.

  • Plan your timing.

Schedule your cosmetic filler and Botox at least 2 weeks before a special occasion. Bruising and swelling need time to settle, because “freshly injected” probably isn’t the look you planned for.

  • Give the retinol a little vacation.

Pause retinol products 2 days before and 2 days after your cosmetic treatment. Your skincare routine will survive without it — we promise!

  • Keep the bruising to a minimum.

When medically appropriate, avoid aspirin and NSAIDs such as Motrin, Advil/ibuprofen, Aleve/naproxen, and Excedrin before your treatment, as they may increase bruising. Taking one because your doctor told you to? Don’t stop it without talking to them first!

  • Supplements count, too.

Let your nurse know if you take fish oil, flaxseed, ginkgo, CoQ10, or vitamin E. If medically appropriate, you may be asked to pause these one week before treatment. When in doubt, tell us what you’re taking — we’d rather know too much than not enough.

  • Prescription blood thinners? Talk to your doctor first!

If you take prescription blood thinners, do not stop or change your medication on your own. It should only be paused if your prescribing doctor says it’s safe to do so. Your safety comes before your appointment. Always.

  • Cold sores? Let’s stay ahead of them.

If you have a history of cold sores, contact your primary care physician before treatment to discuss whether an antiviral medication, such as Valtrex, is appropriate for you. A little planning now can help keep an unwanted guest from crashing your glow-up.

  • Give the dentist a little space.

Avoid dental work for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your procedure. Your smile can wait its turn — right now, we’re getting flawless.
